As social values are shifting, ecological and biological knowledge are improving, and human-wildlife conflict is increasing a paradigm shift is necessary for how we think about and practice conservation biology. Joining the Society for Compassionate Conservation will enable you to be part of an academic movement to influence and improve how conservation is done. First and foremost this will be a network for conservation practitioners that share values and ideals. Individually and collaboratively we can utilize this platform to develop and share ideas. Membership fees will enable us to hold regular conferences, publish a compassionate conservation journal, create a mentorship program for upcoming students, provide scholarships, and create position papers.
